Live in present !!!

Yesterday i was all alone at home. Was browsing through the channels. Atlast i stopped at a religious channel - SHALOM. A priest was talking about this topic. I was thinking about the same subject for about a month now.

Usually when we talk to someone, when we watch television, when we have food, when we pray, why so many thoughts are coming to our mind. Why we are not able to concentrate on the thing which we do???

My small attempt to throw some light on this topic.

The priest orated a small story. I didn't feel it as a story, may be something which we all does... There is a guy who wants to start work at 9.30 in the morning. Have to catch the bus at 8.30 from home. So while having his breakfast he will be thinking about the bus, which is supposed to come at 8.30. Everyday he will be repeating the same thing. He is not enjoying the food which he is eating. Moreover he is eating the bus :)

But why? He is not living in the present. If he is, then will be enjoying the food. How good it is. Whether the salt and masala's are of correct proportion and all. But here, he is trying to eat the bus. So gradually having breakfast is being a habbit for him.

Then a question comes to our mind. What you mean by Living in Present. It means that your awareness is completely centered on the here and now. You are not worrying about the future or thinking about the past. When you live in the present, you are living where life is happening. You might have done so many things, which you don't want to remember in past. But still you think about it. The past and future are illusions, they don’t exist. As the saying goes “tomorrow never comes”. Tomorrow is only a concept, tomorrow is always waiting to come. So why should you worry about yesterday and Tomorrow.

Not only will living in the present have a dramatic effect on your emotional well-being, but it can also impact your physical health. It’s long been known that the amount of mental stress you carry can have a detrimental impact on your health. If you’re living in the present, you’re living in acceptance. You’re accepting life as it is now, not as how you wish it would have been. When you’re living in acceptance, you realize everything is complete as it is. You can forgive yourself for the mistakes you’ve made, and you can have peace in your heart knowing that everything that should happen will.

So try to live in present, and experience how life takes you.
Just try to remember something before you close this window,

1. If you are talking to some one, then there is no one other than you and that person.
2. If you are eating, just think of your food, and you :)
3. If you watch Television, try to find the person in the TV talking to you alone.
4. If you Pray, just think there is no one other than YOU and YOUR CREATOR.

So that your prayers will be heard and you will have more blessing from him.. May you have a good time ahead !!!
